8/30/2023 0 Comments Unity visual studio code 2019If you were just making a console application with Visual Studio and no external tools, you would go to File -> New -> Project and use the wizard to create an appropriate solution file.īut when you're using Unity, the Unity editor will scan your Assets folder for source code files and will automatically create or update a "solution" file that tells Visual Studio where to find them all. Since programming projects often involve a bunch of different files that all combine to make one application, Visual Studio uses a "solution" file (*.sln file extension) that tells it what collection of stuff is all part of the same coding project. This box is not opening while I type code in my version of VS under Unity.īoth VS and Unity version have been installed last week from official sites so I suppose they are the latest available. Took me some time to figure out where the mistake was.Ģ) in the same screenshot (the first one) I'm wondering why the word "debug" has not been colored in orange, and how to fix this ? It seems that the color convention of my code is not the standard one when I compare to some Tutorial videos.ģ) generally speaking I don't have the contextual help (see surrounded in yellow in the second screenshot which I took from a tutorial video). The problem I'm having when typing a C# script is that I don't have the right color coding for all objects in my code and also, I don't have any contextual help to help me detecting my typos.ġ)In the first screenshot below I typed 'Collison' instead of 'Collision' (the second 'i' was missing) and received no warning while typing, but it's a built-in command, so i should have. I'm using Unity together with Visual Studio. Hi there, I'm totally new at all this and just starting with some tutorials so pardon me if my question is dumb.
